Description

Call for Teaching Artists (Visual Arts and Spoken Word/Poetry)

 

We are seeking Teaching Artists to lead our 2021 virtual writing and visual art workshops with an emphasis on Social Justice Advocacy and/or Mental Health Issues & Awareness

 

Our workshops are dedicated to supporting QTIBIPOC+ artists and their creative expressions as well as cultivating community

Must be 18+ to apply

 

Program Details

  • Sessions will be held in Pacific Standard Time

  • Workshops will be ongoing from March-December 2021  

  • Closed captioning will be used by a third-party system

  • ASL provided upon request

 

 Teaching Artists Program Responsibilities

  • Cultivating relationships to build community through art

  • Teaching artists must commit to leading 3-4 workshops throughout the calendar year

  • Teaching Artist is responsible for creating lesson plans

  • Material should be prepared for 1 hour and 30-minute sessions

 

Teaching Artist Qualifications

  • Experience centering QTIBIPOC+ Social Justice Advocacy and/or Mental Health Issues and Awareness

  • Classroom or workshop facilitator experience preferred, but not required

  • Possessing past experience using lesson plans

  • Should be able to complete the application

Compensation: $50 minimum per workshop
