Gathering Wellness from the Wreckage: .A 4-part virtual spoken word/poetry workshop series with Joy B. Songeur, centering on mental health & wellness.

 

Session One: Sourcing our emotions and desires to create impactful pieces

In this first workshop, we will navigate various desires and emotions that impact our work and showcase how to use them as fuel. Before we can reclaim our voices we must first pinpoint the source.

Session Two: Adding vibrance and color to our truth through story telling and technique

This second workshop will be the exploration of how our past and inner child wounds impact our art and the stories we tell, making conscious decisions about our desires, using tone, volume, imagery, and senses to heighten the impact on the audience.

Session Three: Bringing authenticity and depth to our performances and poetic readings

In this third workshop, we will be releasing our truth, adding stylistic cues when performing.

Session Four: Balancing truth telling and wellness through performance, prep, and self-care.

Lastly, we will be practicing performance while understanding our own mental wellness and self care strategies for writing and performing. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a completion certificate.

"Move Your Body, Heal Your Soul: Beginner-Friendly Movement Intensive for Every Body" with Harmony Lee

 

Workshop Description: 

Are you ready to move though your trauma and find some peace?

 

Relief is possible through healing movement. In this intensive, you will learn how to regulate a stressed out nervous system, create your individualized care plan for self-healing, and practice resilience in body, mind, and spirit. 

 

All movements can be adapted from seated, lying down, or standing. Dress up in what feels good, and bring something to take notes!
